Talk to Gynecologist on Gynecologist Prescribed Me YAZ For Whole Year

I had cyst last year, i had severe pain in my leg during periods and even after that, I visited a gynecologist and she prescribed me YAZ non stop for 3 months, I took it for 3 months and then the pain and everything was normal, but now after an year I had pain got my ultrasound and visited another gynecologist, and she said everything is fine but she prescribed me YAZ for the whole year like stop during periods and then start at 2nd day, but do I really have to take it for whole year, my husband is abroad so not a problem for getting pregnant, but just is it safe should I take it for a year or... and is it ok, if I use it as a contraceptive when my husband comes.
