Asking For Self, Female 24, Islamabad
i am 24 years old unmarried. not Medical or surgical history. i have a hard mass palpable on my 3rd or 4th costal cartilage. it is hard and fixed. no pain or any other symptom. i am just concerned because i can palpate it during breast examination and i get fearful. i found it months ago idk how long it has been here and i think it has slightly increased in size.
Aoa

do you have any family history of diabetes???
yes

these could either unbalanced fats deposit or may be a premature tumor cyst...

can fat deposits be hard and attached to costal cartilage? is it dangerous?
how are you sure about is it attached or not...
is it mobile???
hardness and immobility are two different things...
although benign growths are not dangerous

i have thoroughly examined it. i am a medical student myself. and get skeptical because of that may be. tw it was not in the breast mass or subcutaneous. it was hard like bone and immobile. like i tried byt it didn't move from the costal cartilage area.

so...
that means you know better that if you go for biopsy then there would be chances of malignancy stimulation....
and the last resolution in eastern medicine is sugery....
do you like to go a non surgical option ????

like you sure k its some cancerous mass?
no no never never.....
I am sure about its benign...
cancerous hazard could be in future, but that's not a compulsion....

what If i don't follow it?

follow what????
as in follow up for it's investigation & management? i once randomly asked a doctor k i have sth like this and he just brushed it off k you are just overthinking everything. XD (apparently because the original problem i went to him with came out to be fine like that x-ray was normal, also because i dont have any symptoms)

dear the matter is;
x-ray is the first option in radiological investigations....
when you remain unsatisfied and go for further investigations thn another scans would be when they would be clear too and you still visit different physicians thn biopsy at last would possibly be recommended to you and that biopsy in case would be clear also although biopsy in itself sometimes stimulate benign growths to malignancy....

so until it is painless dont get it in exposure to scanning rays and other investigating insicion....
