Asking for Self, Female, 20 years old, abroad
Salaam doctor. Im 20 years old and i hav7e been suffering from spinal disc /nerves compression since long.. so the doctor prescribed me Zeegap( Pregabalin) daily at night... Ive been taking it regularly since 2 months.. Now, this week, i came to know im 5 weeks pregnant. is this medicine safe in pregnancy or should i stop it immediately? My doctor has advised to stop it altogether but I have heard you cannot stop it rather decrease the dose gradually and than stop.. Kindly guide .. thanks

its category C drug-data is lacking on its effect in pregnancy-u shud consult both fr its dosage ur OBG and ur neurologist...

the medicine was prescribed by a doctor in pakistan and now im in zimbabwe (countryside) where there r few doctors wuth basic information not much for such issues... the doctor here has advised to stop it there is no harm, but i want second opinion frm experts here..
Aoa. u have not mention the quantity of zeegap. it should be gradually reduced by lowering the quantity. consult with ur neurophysician.
Take 50mg onedaily for 2 week. Then 25 mg for 1 week. But before discontinuing u should consult ur doctor who prescribed it for spinecompression.

- medication could be substituted also .
- have High dose of Folic acid .
- Complete treatment for any health issue u have .
-u can have Physiotherapy with Advice of Specialist.
- regular antenatal visits and scans needed .
