Talk to Gynecologist on Menstrual Disorder

Im 50.i haven't had periods for around 2 months.i used to have a quite regular cycle but around 8 or 9 months ago it was 10 days late then it became regular now it's been 2 time i have hot flashes all day and during the night.i feel breathing issue and fast tell me if it is only periods irregularity or my menopause has started? Thx.
