Talk to Gynecologist on Nothing In Ultrasound
Asking For Wife, Female 23, Johar Town, Lahore
Hi Doctors,
LMP: 18 October 2017 Pregnancy test: Positive HCG on 25 December 2017: 3020 mIL/ml Free T4: 9.7
Nothing was seen in Transvaginal Ultrasound on 25 December 2017
What could be the reason? Aleast we should be able to see the Gestational SAC. Doctor advised 2nd scan in a week.
Can you please tell me what could be the reasons? What are the possibilities?

Sometimes an early pregnancy cannot be seen on ultrasound and so you are told to repeat the ultrasound after a week. You can repeat serum B Hcg and if it is doubled after 2 days then it means the pregnancy is growing well. A decreasing level may indicate a failing pregnancy.

what about ectopic or tubal pregnancy?
How does it effect beta hcg? I mean if HCG is growing, then is it for sure that pregnancy is viable?
