I have severe pain in my lower back( just where the hip bone joins the back bone) and also pain in lower abdomen during first 3 days of periods. I usually avoid taking any meds like panadol etc but this time I had to take panadol due to severe pain. What should I do? And is it normal in periods or not? Kindly guide. Age: 17
Pain in lower abdomen during first few days of periods ( dysmenorrhea) is quite conmen some time it can radiate to the back depending upon the position of your uterus, as you are very young I would suggest take simple analgesic during those days. If it still continues get an ultrasound of pelvis done and see a gynaecologist to evaluate further

OK, thank you doctor. Now I don't have pain, it was just on day 1 of periods. Should I still go for ultrasound or no need of it now?
