Hi one month has passed taking isotretinoin (oratane) prescribed by my doctor but my first period after being on this happened yesterday.. There is never in my life that I have seen such a less flow like few drops only.. Does the treatment stop the period? Is it normal being on isotretinoin? Please respond

i am not aware of any ill effect of retinoids on menstruation.i am sure common side effects would have been explained to you can cause skin dryness, dry eyes occasionally can be harmful to the liver and precipitate depression. Make sure you don't conceive while on it due to severe teratogenic effect . Menstrual irregularities can be multifactoral as pointed by others and one month change doesn't warrant any investigation at all. Observe for good 6 months before you start questioning any cause and undergoing investigation.key is always do a pregnancy test if you miss your periods.

I'm 56 kgs last month my period was before starting the course. I am worried if it has the tendancy to cause any hormonal issues.
