Talk to Gynecologist on Periods Pain- Painkiller- Breastfeeding Safe

Can anyone advise a safe pain killer for breastfeeding mother for period cramps ? Also wanted to ask if there’s any connection between breastfeeding and period cramps as i used to have extreme cramps before my pregnancy but after delivery my periods were pain free for 7-8 months but now my baby is 14 months and gradually I’ve shifted her to formula and only breastfeed her at night and once in day sometimes, I’ve been getting cramps again since the last 3/4 months so is it because that I’m reducing the feeds? Will the cramps return once I completely wean off my baby from bf as I’m trying to wean her off. Thanks
