Asking For Wife, Female 25, Lahore
I hope you are doing well. I’m writing to seek your guidance regarding my wife. She delivered our baby around 50 days ago and is currently breastfeeding. Yesterday, during intercourse, the condom accidentally slipped off and semen may have leaked inside.
She is mostly breastfeeding but also gives 2–3 small formula feeds a day. Her postpartum bleeding stopped after 40 days, and she experienced another short period a few days later.
We are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy and would like to know whether an emergency contraceptive pill would be safe for her while breastfeeding, or if you would recommend any alternative or follow-up steps.
Thank you very much for your time and advice.

The risk of pregnancy is present, but the likelihood is uncertain given your wife's breastfeeding status and the timing of her postpartum bleeding. Emergency contraception is available, but its effectiveness and safety while breastfeeding should be considered. You should consult a healthcare provider for a personalized assessment. Consider tracking your wife's menstrual cycle and ovulation symptoms. You may want to ask: 'What are the safest emergency contraception options while breastfeeding?' or 'How soon can we determine if she is pregnant?'
