Talk to Gynecologist on Use Of Folic Acid During Pregnancy.

AOA. Hope you all are doing great! I am finally tested positive after 3 and a half year of my marriage. So far, no history of miscarriage. Its my very first time I concieved. But I have a history of irregular periods and missed periods So as usual I didnot give attention and took it as missed periods. MY due date was 15th of May and first day of last menstrual cycle is 16th of April. As per count I am in 7th week of pregnancy. I just found it out yesterday and today I have started folic acid 5mg (ZAFA). But now I am worried about neural defects as neural tube would already be formed. Am I too late for folic acid?? Also I will be having appointment 2mrw with gynaecologist. Also I will go for ultrasound 2mrw. Will we able to assess heartbeat???
