Aoa doctor. My mother had her uterus removal surgery today, the doctor gave her epidural anaesthesia, the reason she told was my mum is taking cortisone since almost 17 years. Are there any side effects? How should we take care of her for speedy recovery & preventing long term side effects? She’s already an arthritis patient and we’re worried.

wasalam. major surgery take time 4 to 6 weeks to recovery. she will develop gradually in terms of pain, mobility, work etc. rest of course depends on her clinical condition and doctors already are looking after her.
