Talk to Gynecologist on Vaginal Itching

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 29 years old, Nawabshah

. Aoa respected drs,

I would like to seek your advice regarding a vaginal problem I have been experiencing. Recently, I was staying in Hyderabad, where the water supply seemed quite dirty and mixed with impurities. After using that water, I started experiencing vaginal itching.

The itching is not continuous or present all the time; it occurs only a few times during the day. However, for the past 2–3 days, it has become more intense when it occurs, and I have also noticed some swelling in the vaginal/vulval area.

Whenever I scratch due to the itching, some vaginal discharge comes out. However, I do not notice any continuous or spontaneous discharge otherwise.

I am currently a breastfeeding mother. I also underwent LIS (Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy) surgery about 18 days ago, and the surgical area is still healing. Because of my current condition, I am unable to visit a doctor in person at the moment.

Could you please advise me about what this could be and suggest a safe treatment, especially considering that I am breastfeeding and recovering from recent surgery? I would be very grateful for your guidance.
