Talk to Gynecologist on What Causes Slow Fetal Growth, And How Can It Be Taken Care Of?

person-avatar

Asking For Other, Female 23, Islamabad

What is the reason for slow fetal growth, i.e., gestational age disparity of 2+ weeks in the 33rd week of pregnancy? Up until the 23rd week, the disparity was 1+ weeks.

Q1. Is it something to be worried about, or is it a common issue and can be fixed easily?

Q2. How long does it take for the fetal growth to become normal?

Q3. What can the mother do to ensure growth stays on track?

disparity of two weeks or more is worrisome...how about ur umbilical artery doppler with SD ratio...ask ur doctor about dexa cover fr fetal lung maturity...since I don't knw ur present obstetrical health status so won't b able to advise any medication as u r already under sumone's treatment...ur weight, nutritional status, blood supply to the baby, previous obstetrical history, any existing co morbidities etc all cud b the reason fr IUGR...now if ethg is going OK biochemically and sonographically even then I ll advise you to c ur gynaecologist for devising further plan of management, mode of delivery and time of delivery...hope you understand wt I mean
