Thanks for asking. As from the beginning, tumor has invaded the portal vein and most of the time TACE does not work. Even after some years tumor not only has invaded the main portal vein but it has also reached to hepatic veins as well. Tace actually did little, Sorafenib has produced some rashes but it can be used with great cautions and under cover of symptomatic treatment of rashes. I agree with the statement that it has now become very much advanced... survival chances are less. Any TACE at this condition may be fatal....We have very recently come across a case where after TACE, thrombus from the main portal hepatic vein caused pulmonary embolism, That case was also presented in the international conference...
