Talk to Neuro Physician on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Right Hand)

My mother is 50 years old. She has numbness in the right thumb, index finger, and middle finger for the last 3–4 months. NCS/EMG report shows Severe Right Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with absent median motor and sensory responses. Hand strength is mostly normal but decreases during heavy work. An orthopedic surgeon has advised either a steroid injection or carpal tunnel release surgery. We would like a second opinion regarding the best treatment option.
