Asking For Mother, Female 58, Lahore

Over the time, we were noticing some cognitive issues with my mother, like sometimes she did not understand things properly. Although she is educated and was a teacher, but now we noticed that her cognitive issues are increasing. She keep forgetting things. she even forgets the basic information, things which used to be on her finger tips, like important dates, she forget the names, and she finds hard to do calculations, she usually misunderstands the conversation and sometimes interpret things totally opposite. She sometimes make wrong concepts and it's difficult to correct these concept. gets panic easily and remains in the state of anxiety mostly. What can be the problem? whom should we consult? neurologist or psychiatrist?
