Asking for Self, Male, 20 years old, Multan
On the Sunday morning I started the gym at home I was doing the arms bicep curls I recently have started to do gym it's been 1.5 weeks.I do it 2 to 3 times a day but on Sunday I pushed myself and a sharp pain from the neck started and was ending in the back side of the head that lasted 40 seconds and not anywhere.I immediately stoped there and I searched about it (thunderbolt headache) what should I do I didn't experience any symptoms beside a minor headache in these two days that lasted for a few minutes.what should I do please reply.
This is called exertional headache and is caused by sudden rise of blood pressure accompanied by valsalva maneovre ( holding your breath and pushing your breath against a closed mouth. This will result in extreme rise of blood pressure which in severe cases may cause arterial dissection in the neck arteries..in such a case you may end up with stroke. Take care not to exert yourself excessively and also remember to take deep breaths while doing this exercise in the gym
