Asking for Self, Male, 21 years old, Faisalabad
Asalamoalikaum, Respected Doctors. Like 2.5 years back. I lifted about 50 KG of Wheat Bag in Deadlock (Rukuh Position). Then mere lower spine ma ek nail like pain Hua. Main ny mukhtalif doctors de check up karwaya. All of them gave me some muscle relaxants and pain killers. Which seems to be recovering but these only worked as a pain killer for me. I also tried exercises cuz this might be disk herniation or disk bulge. But it doesn't seems to be like that.
The pain is not severe. And is not shooting down my any leg. the pain is in the Lower last disk of my spine. But Numbness and little pain is always there. And when I sit for a while on a chair it starts hurting. On the scale from 1-10, the pain is in the mid 5.
I can walk do all the normal things without any problems. but cannot lift heavy work or lift something.
Please diagnose me. I am pretty stressful at this moment. As it's been about 3 years.
Regards Arslan
Can you perform MRI spine? It will be better then assessed.
Hi Arsalan. Lower back pain can be due to muscle cramp or a nerve pinch. muscle cramp tends to worsen with change in posture. on the other hand nerve pain is usually persistent and may or may not shoot down the leg. a couple of things can worsen a preexisting disc issue including abnormal posture of sitting, high speed or bumpy travel, heavy weight, sedentary life style etc. while it's important to do all the things for prevention of worsening disc issue, daily lower back exercises are needed for a couple of months for problem to reverse.
hope this answers your questions.

Dr. Ahmed Wali Thanks for your response. No, I haven't done the MRI. But I can do it. No one has suggested it yet, But I read it online, SO which part of the spine I should get MRI,
thank for your suggestion.

Dr. Waqar Hafeez Thanks for your response as well. I also think this might be a nerve pinch. As it's not increasing nor decreasing. I have tried some exercises but all in vain. And I also have tried to rest for a long time by sleeping on tough surfaces.
But I didn't get better. I am a lean person. I only weigh about 63 kg and height is 6 Feet.
So Sor do you suggest I should see a physiotherapist ?
Cuz its getting stressful for me.
Thank you :)
physiotherapist is your best bet. even if you do an MRI, the treatment remains lower back exercises for 3 months, daily. sleeping on a hard surface may or may not help. your treatment is specific lower back exercises which you learn from physio and do it at home for 3 months. medicines won't do anything... Thanks
