Asking for Brother, Male, 37 years old, Lahore

My brother aged 37 was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) some 8 months ago while he was feeling symptoms post Covid time. Currently he is taking physio sessions + diet supplements. Sometimes it seems that his deterioration is slowed down but other times he seems less energetic. Until now he is Mashallah doing his daily chores as before but I am much worried for future. is there chance of recovery or stopping this disease from further loss? we have consulted to 2-3 top Neuros in Lahore but none gave any good news.

Your guidance will be highly appreciated. Thank you! -Umair

I feel sorry for your brother. You can only give tablet Riluzole 50mg at bed time for 2 weeks then increase dose to 50mg once morning and at bed time (twice daily). other than this only FDA approved medicine, you can offer physio and general management regarding diet etc. you should also repeat his nerve conduction studies every 6 monthly to see the progression.
