Agar 50 saal ka mard mareez ko spinal cord par chot lag jaye to is ke baad paralysis ho jana ek aam baat hai. Aksar aisi chot ke baad mareez apni kamzori completely recover nahi kar pata, khaas tor par jab injury severe ho.
Chot lagne ke foran baad mareez ko kisi barray (tertiary care) hospital mein ATLS protocol ke mutabiq immediate aur proper treatment ki zaroorat hoti hai. Initial phase mein kuch selected patients ko doctor ke mashware aur mareez ki condition ke mutabiq Inj. Methylprednisolone di jati hai taa ke spinal cord ki swelling kam ki ja sake.
Is ke ilawa regular physiotherapy aur rehabilitation se kuch patients mein haath paon ki power mein partial improvement aa sakti hai, lekin complete recovery ki guarantee nahi di ja sakti.
