Asking for Self, Female, 24 years old, Lahore
24-year-old female (157 cm, 95 kg). Over the past 6 months, I have developed progressively worsening lumbar symptoms. MRI lumbar spine shows L5/S1 disc desiccation with a diffuse disc bulge causing bilateral foraminal narrowing and compression of the exiting nerve roots. I have persistent severe low back pain and frequent electric shock-like pain radiating into the perineal/anal region, with only brief periods of relief every 4–5 hours. I also have neurological symptoms, including reduced bladder sensation (often unable to perceive bladder filling), urinary leakage, and bowel leakage.
My neurologist reviewed the MRI images (not just the written report) and urgently referred me to a spine surgeon due to concern for neurological compromise. An experienced spine specialist has also advised urgent assessment within 24–48 hours because of the risk of permanent neurological deficits if significant nerve compression is confirmed.
I would appreciate recommendations for highly experienced spine neurosurgeons or orthopaedic spine surgeons in Islamabad or Lahore, particularly those with expertise in minimally invasive/endoscopic lumbar discectomy and the management of complex lumbar nerve compression.
