Talk to Cancer Specialist / Oncologist on Breast Cancer Surgery
Asking For Mother, Female 72, Lahore
I have been diagnosed with Invasive Breast Carcinoma, no special type (ductal), grade 2 breast cancer, my doppler ultrasound report, mammography report and biopsy report is attached. Tumor size is 17mm as per Ultrasound.
Please look into the attached reports and guide which type of surgery is better for me:
Myscotomy Lumpectomy
The surgeon has recommended Lumpectomy but he is saying that there are 20% chances of re surgery after Lumpectomy, I don't want any re surgery, I am so confused and depressed and need guideline, please guide, Thanks to Jazzak Allah

Salam I think u have asked this question before as well. With lumpectomy surgeon do frozen section at time of surgery if negative than no need of repeat surgery if still you are confuse than better is to opt for mastectomy as after mastectomy probably she will not need adjuvant radiation

There is life time risk of cancer recurrence after full treatment. Unfortunately, you mum need to live with this reality. If surgeon showed concerns for 20% re-resection than go for mastectomy. if this relives you anxiety and depression ?

You can understand my concern about my mother, we have not tell her about Cancer, just asked her that it's a surgery for removal of lump.
We want lumpectomy but just want to know about risk factor, I have taken a second opinion from one of breast oncoplastic surgeon in Lahore, who has also recommended Lumpectomy.
I just want to confirm things to fight with my fears
