Summary about Cervical Cancer in English

Cervical cancer occurs in the cells of the cervix the part that connects the uterus with the vagina. Human papillomavirus (HPV) a sexually transmitted infection cause cervical cancer. When female body contact with the HPV the immune system of the body resist against the virus. In females, the virus sustains for the longer period of the time and as time passes the cells cause cancer in the body. Females can prevent cervical cancer by getting a screening with time and taking a vaccine against the virus.

It is a type of cancer in which the cervical area of the female gets abnormal cell growth.

Causes:

It is caused by the infection of a virus named human papillomavirus.

Symptoms:

It is manifested by following signs

  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge
  • Lower back or pelvic pain
  • Pain during intercourse

Treatment:

Like other tumors, it is treated by

  • chemotherapy
  • radiotherapy
  • surgical removal called hysterectomy
