Asking for Other, Male, 73 years old, Lahore

My father in law was diagnosed with cancer last month. Cancer was supposed to be removed with surgery but before one day of cancer surgery was cancelled. He has liver cancer and metastatic type. We consulted all drs from different hospitals. Everyone says that his last treatment is chemo. Should we go for this? Is it suitable? I'm soooooo confused. Kindly ajar ki niyat se acha mashwra de dy. Here is his recent labs. We are so tired.

its cholangiocarcinoma according to history mentioned in reports . second half of PET scan is missing . but as u said surgery was canceled after seeing HRCT then this may be due to mets. the primary treatatment of such cancer is chemo +/- few targeted agents in some circumstances. but decision is made after seeing patients health/ condition whether he can or can't tolerate chemotherapy. I would suggest to visit some oncologist in person in ur city with patient and discuss in detail whether pt can tolerate palliative chemo or not .
Allah mareez aur ap k liye asaanian karay.

we have took patient to multiple oncologist as the patient is aged but can walk strightly so they recommended us chemo. but he also lost 21 kgs. so should we go for chemo or let him rest at home? I knw it's silly question but we are afraid of side effects.

yes chemo has side effects but every oncologist tries to manage side effects. its ur decision to proceed with treatment or not , an oncologist will give you advise as per his/her best clinical judgment and only Allah knows and decides Fate of every person . visit some oncologist in ur city and discuss all questions in detail and make decision.
