Greetings.. I had total thyroidectomy in months if April and may. First my left gland was removed then biopsy results showed papillary thyroid carcinoma then I was again operated for removal of right gland as well. And thyroid scan was done and I was given radioactive iodine ablation. Im taking thyroxine 50mg. Now my question is what kind of follow-up needed after radioiodine therapy.as I'm concerned about radioiodine 's long term effects on uterus ovaries and breast . I m married having two kids.

Not many serious side effects, dry mouth and loss of taste are common one.
Not much on organs you have asked in your question.
There very rare cases of leukemia.
Need physical.exam thyroglobin, antthryroglobin antibody in 6 month and
the 1year time and then yearly.
Considerr US of thyroid Evey 6 months few time.
Consider iodine scan if high risk of residence one a.year.
