AsalamoAliekum Ma'am, I need to ask that is there any cure/surgery for dry macular degeneration, if yes please guide. JazakumALLAH
As such no surgery bcz its totally age related
Yes can be improved or stable with multi vitamins specially with vit A an lutine .
Take Multli Vitamins daily
It's purely Age related Condition so in this cases only supplement works . You shoud do proper check up of your mother to findout her Visual status.
Thanks
There is no treatment of age related macular degeneration. You can take steps to help slow its progression, such as taking vitamin supplements, eating healthy and not smoking.
No need of surgery for this..
Maintain Good life style.
Take multivitamin to slow down the disease
there is no medical treatment but their is managment by low vision devices.a person can live satisfactory life by using distance and low vision devices.multivitamin and spectacles are not fruitful for macular degeneration as they can slightly help in slow down the progression only
It depends upon the patient's condition while there is no proper treatment for dry macular degeneration, but it can slow down by taking different regular measures
visit any eye hospital for detail eye examination
Dry macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in older adults. Unfortunately there is no cure or surgery available to revert the damage caused. But there are many promising treatments or lifestyle changes that could slow down the process. A healthy balanced diet with Omega 3 fatty acid, leafy vegetables etc, supplements, regular exercise, Using sunglasses as a protection against UV and avoiding smoking, could really help.
There is no proper cure but treatments are available to slow down it's progression. Will suggest after a proper & detailed checkup
As of 2025, There’s no treatment that can restore lost vision from dry AMD but early detection and intervention can dramatically slow damage.
-Lifestyle changesStop smoking, maintain healthy weight, control blood pressure/cholesterol, protect eyes from UV light, and eat a diet rich in leafy greens and omega-3 fatty acids.
