Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Ankle/Lower Leg Fracture

I have attached my X-ray taken on 19/08/2026 for an ankle/lower-leg fracture. I currently have a backslab applied. Please review the X-ray and advise which bone is fractured and how serious the fracture appears. Is there any significant displacement, angulation, or misalignment? Is the fracture stable enough to heal properly with the current backslab, or could surgery be required? Is the ankle joint properly aligned? Approximately how many weeks could the fracture take to heal? When can I safely start putting weight on the leg and walk normally? Do I need a follow-up X-ray, a full cast, or any further treatment?

Thank you. Mechanism of injury? Direct hit to the fractured bone or twisting of ankle joint that resulted in fracture of fibula above the ankle joint. Need exact AP view of Ankle and Mortise view of ankle . Regards

It means you must have torn your ankle ligament and the joint between fibula and Tibia called syndesmosis. Probably will require surgery. Do your XRay as advised. Regards
