Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Complications After Broken Hand Surgery
Asking For Brother, Male 18, Rawalpindi, Peshawar
AoA, my brother got his hand bones (ulna and radius) broken in a car accident. Surgery was carried out and plates were installed to contact both the bones. However, after a month an infection occurred at the Ulna bone side. The doctor advised medications, however no improvement was noted. Today again x-ray was carried out after two months and the condition of hand and bones was found worse. x-ray is attached here. Kindly advise what to do?. Thanks

you need to get examined physically. this is a case of non union and possibly infected non union. lab evaluation and physical evaluation in detail can decide further course of action.

It is an infected non-union of ulna.Needs removal of implant, pus and tissue culture sensitivity test and then antibiotics according to C/S.when infection is cured replating and bone graft will solve the problem, In Sha Allah.
