Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Knee Cap Dislocation

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Islamabad

Four days ago, I slipped, and my left knee dislocated to the side. This had happened before, but my knee would usually go back into place on its own. However, this time it didn’t return to its position and stayed completely out of place. Then my father manually set it back, and we went to the hospital. The doctor examined it, and the X-ray showed that the bone was in the correct position. The doctor advised me to wear a leg immobilizer for 10–12 days. It’s been 4 days now, and I’m still wearing it, but I’m not satisfied what if, after removing the immobilizer, my knee slips out of place again after some time?

Thank you
Knee immobilizer for 6 weeks.
Physiotherapy, once your pain settles, better to see Orthopedic Surgeon near you, to find out the reason of patellar dislocation and it's definitive management.

I normally recommend it for 4 weeks and then physiotherapy and if it's recurrent then I advise further investigation to know the cause and then recommend treatment on that basis
