Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Knees Pain
Asking for Mother, Female, 65 years old, Lahore
My mother is having knee pain . Plz chk her x-rays. And tell is there any serious issues. Or can b resolved with exercise? And some mild medication. Plz avoid to suggest visits as I just want opinion. Thanks a lot

Thank you. On XRay knee, looks ageing knee arthritis more worse on left knee than right knee. She has to take pain killer medicine to control pain . Ibuprofen 400 mg one tablet in the morning and one at night after food. Omeprazole 20mg one tablet at night if she feels heartburn or pain in stomach. Nuberol forte one tablet twice daily if more severe pain . If she is overweight than she should reduce her weight. Do knee exercises to strengthen her quadriceps muscles. For complete relief she needs knee replacement when she reaches to that stage. Hope for the best Inshallah. Regards
Arthritis both knee joints needs intra articular injection and then knee replacement surgery

She has early arthritis in both knees. However, it is not necessary that the x-ray findings will corelate with the patients symptoms especially pain. Treatment options can only be given after complete history and examination. However, the most important points are reduce stress on the knee joints with weight loss, avoidance of activities in which knees are bent more than 90 degress (eg. squats) and physiotherapy (esp. quads sttengthening).
