I have rheumatoid arthritis and my rheumatologist just did a routine x-ray and found a prolapsed effusion. Is it necessary to get a CT scan with contrast? My ultrasound is completely clear and I don't have any other indications like chest pain, breathing problems, etc. Please adv

please re-read your diagnosis it is pleural effusion and you have consult Pulmonologist.

In RA there is Complications in lung
pulmonary interstetial fibrosis
so It is necessary to do HRCT of lung to R/O out
Or Determine the stage of Interstetial Fibrosis
It's Better to take Pulmonologist opinion
