Talk to Orthopedic Surgeon on Post Hip Replacement Surgery

Salam,
I had biletral hip replacement surgery 2023 October from gurki trust hospital lahore. its been more than a year but my right foot sole is still numb and I can't feel a thing. Due to this reason, it's hard for me to even drive and feels very uncomfortable. I contacted my surgeon and they told me to have Nerve conduction test and it showed that my nerve is healing but like I said it's been more than a year and I don't feel it getting better and I'm worried about it...
please respected doctors kindly give me an advice on what to do now? is it permanent nerve damage due to surgery or what?

You need to visit nearby physiotherapy clinic and discuss with them or if you come lahore, visit me during my time at hospital. Post-ooerative physiotherapy is required (Physiotherapy after surgery) which will help you to regain mobility and will get you rid of numbness. I hope this msg will clear your thoughts about the problem. Moreover, proper assessment is required.

Mne aksar physiotherapy exercises ma wo exercises bhi daikhi hain jo nhi krwani hotin par krwai hoti hai aur wo diagnosis sy blkl opposite hoti hain. Unka koi faida nhi hota.

this surgical error either your nerve was stretched too much due to hip balancing or the sciatic nerve got bruised during surgery.
I do not know whether you have foot drop also?
If the nerve is stretched it will be permanent issue since it is 1 year old and you have to live with this if it is bruised it may partially resolve over 2-3 year after that it will plateau.

My surgeon said that the nerve got stretched during surgery and it will heal over time, I do not have foot drop but foot sole is partial numb and I don't feel it getting any better.

wslm sir nope I'm not taking any medicines anymore and no nothing in the past. I was taking Ethix but my surgeon told me to stop 2 months ago.
