Sore Knee Pain

Question

I have a meniscus tear and have been advised to go for a key hole surgery to repair it. I have been told its only a day surgery. My question is How long is the recovery time as i have a holiday booked to pakistan for 2 month stay exactly 1 month after procedure. should i cancel procedure till after holiday or will i be ok.

It depends upon the type of meniscal tear. It is advisable that you should undergo the surgery during you holidays so that effective physiotherapy can also be carried out.

Travelling can be done after the day of surgery

there are two things for meniscal treatment.
1. repair it. then it will take 6 -8 weeks of recovery time
i am not sure if any body do meniscal repair at doctors hospital.
2. just shaving off the problematic two week of recovery time.
