Asking For Someone else, Daughter, Female, 0 Years old, Karachi
My Daughter Age 2.5 Months. I suddenly noticed this pimple or Boil on her upper arm near to shoulder joint. I dont recall seeing this a couple of days back. Not sure what is this. Can anyone please advise? This may be irrelevant but could this be a side effect of vaccination? She had her 2nd dose of pentavalent vaccines and Rota vaccine just two days ago. Thanks in advance.
This Pimple is bcz of BCG vaccine.
No need of any medication.
It will burst, and make scar, that is called BCG Scar.
This is a a nodulopustular lesion, can occur after 4-6 weeks of vaccination at injection site but in such case there is redness soon after vaccination which later develops into such a lesion, usually after Bcg vaccine which is applied on right up.arm on 1st day of life, although can be applied later as well.
Anyhow if there are no such other lesions and baby is not having fever, persistent chest infections or diarrhea and baby is taking feed, sleeping well and gaining weight then nothing to worry. This will resolve, may need oral antibiotics or topical ointments in severe cases

Thanks for your detailed response. The baby got BCG vaccine on next day of her birth and there was a red spot for a long time in this area. Now she is 2.5 month old and this thing suddenly appeared. Is this ok to have this boil after this long?

don't worry. it's BCG pustule which will persist for 4-5 months, then it will burst open and leave a permanent scar.
