Asalam o Alaikum
Dear care giver of patient, it is important to note the reason for lymphedema. If the primary cause or problem has been treated and lymphedema is left then it can be managed.
Please consider the following:
1. Take her to a physician doctor if any primary issue is there such as any infection, trauma or injury etc.
2. Use/wear the compression stockings/bandages
3. Elevate the leg above the level of the body when lying down.
4. Avoid standing for more than 30-45 mins at a time.
5. Avoid sitting with legs hanging or feet unsupported for more than 30-45 mins at a time.
6. Go to physiotherapist for lymphatic drainage treatment.
7. Rest
May Allah bless with healing and recovery Ameen.
8. Learn the lymphatic drainage technique from physiotherapist.
