Talk to Physiotherapist on Posture Issue Maybe??

person-avatar

Asking For Self, Male 20, Model Town

Hi, I want to get my posture checked. My hips have become more prominent and I sometimes get discomfort in my lower left back. Lying on a flat surface even sometimes causes pain. After doing some research online, I think I might have a pelvic tilt but I'm not sure. That's why I wanna consult someone to get it checked. Should I consult an Orthopedic doctor or phyiotherapist? should I get my X rays done before consulting?

Based on your description, this appears more consistent with a postural or biomechanical issue rather than a serious structural problem.
The prominence of the hips along with one-sided lower back discomfort is often associated with pelvic asymmetry (tilt or rotation), muscle imbalances, or altered movement patterns. Pain while lying on a flat surface can also occur due to muscle tightness or reduced spinal-pelvic alignment, rather than a bone-related issue.
In such cases, the most appropriate first step is to consult a physiotherapist. A detailed assessment of your posture, muscle balance, joint alignment, and movement patterns can help identify the exact cause.
Routine X-rays are usually not required initially, unless there is a history of trauma, severe persistent pain, or neurological symptoms such as numbness, tingling, or weakness. If needed, you can be referred for further medical evaluation afterward.
Early assessment and guided rehabilitation often lead to very good outcomes, especially when the issue is addressed at this stage.

Physiotherapist in Lahore - Dr. Mobeena Azhar PT

I recommend visiting a physiotherapist nearby for a proper assessment. They can check your posture, pelvic alignment, and muscle balance to identify the exact cause. Usually, you won\'t need an X-ray before the appointment; it will only be performed if clinically required. You will be guided accordingly. Based on your symptoms, it could be an imbalance in muscles or a pelvic tilt, which is typically manageable with the right exercises and posture adjustments.

You should get and AP/ Lateral view X-ray and then consult a physiotherapist. Pelvic tilt is often caused by muscle tightness and can usually be effectively treated by Physiotherapy.

Your symptoms suggest a postural imbalance, such as a pelvic tilt, which a Physiotherapist can best assess through a physical examination..
.You don\'t necessarily need an X-ray first... a clinical assessment is more important to determine if the issue is muscular or structural. I recommend consulting a therapist for a movement analysis and a tailored exercise plan to correct your posture and relieve the discomfort.....

no you don\'t need x-ray . for postural related pathologies or mechanical back problems visit physiotherapist . we do some physical tests for biomechanics. and advise some specific exercise plan . if pain increases with YouTube exercises then avoid it . physiotherapist is best choice as it is our domain to address postural related issues.

Diet for bone health cure and overall structure vitality!! Halal diet based on milk.

A diet to support bone health, skeletal strength, and overall vitality should focus on adequate calcium, vitamin D, protein, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin K, while maintaining overall nutritional balance. Below is a structured Halal, milk-based dietary approach suitable for bone health.

1. Key Nutrients for Bone Health
✅ Calcium
Primary mineral for bone structure.
Target intake (adults): ~1000–1200 mg/day (verify with local guidelines).

Halal milk-based sources:
- Cow’s milk (fresh or powdered)
- Goat’s milk
- Laban (fermented milk)
- Yogurt (plain, full-fat or low-fat)
- Labneh
- Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, cottage cheese – halal-certified)

✅ Vitamin D
Essential for calcium absorption. Deficiency impairs bone mineralization.

Sources:
- Safe sunlight exposure (10–30 min depending on skin tone and climate)
- Fortified halal milk
- Egg yolks
- Fatty fish (salmon, sardines – halal)
- Vitamin D supplementation if required (verify dosage per regional guidelines)

✅ Protein
Critical for bone matrix formation and muscle strength.

Halal milk-based sources:
- Milk (8 g protein per cup)
- Greek yogurt
- Cottage cheese
- Whey protein (halal-certified)

Also include:
- Lentils
- Chickpeas
- Eggs
- Lean halal meats

✅ Magnesium & Vitamin K
Support bone mineral density.

Sources:
- Spinach, kale
- Broccoli
- Almonds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Whole grains

2. Sample Halal Milk-Based Bone Health Plan
? Morning
- 1 glass fortified milk
- Oats cooked in milk topped with almonds and dates
- Boiled egg
? Lunch
- Grilled halal chicken or lentil curry
- Brown rice or whole wheat roti
- Spinach or broccoli
- Yogurt (plain)
? Snack
- Cottage cheese or labneh with olive oil
- Fresh fruit
? Dinner
- Baked salmon or chickpea stew
- Mixed vegetables
- Small portion of cheese
? Before Bed
- Warm milk (supports calcium intake and sleep quality)

3. Additional Clinical Considerations

- Weight-bearing exercise (walking, resistance training) is essential for bone remodeling.
- Limit excessive caffeine and carbonated soft drinks.
- Avoid smoking.
- Maintain healthy body weight.
- In postmenopausal women or elderly adults, calcium + vitamin D supplementation may be necessary if dietary intake is insufficient (follow local medical guidance).

4. Special Situations

- Lactose intolerance: Use lactose-free milk or fermented dairy (yogurt, laban).
- Osteoporosis: Higher protein intake and monitored calcium/vitamin D supplementation may be required.
- Kidney disease: Calcium and phosphorus intake must be medically supervised.

Important Note
There is no single “cure” diet for bone disease. Bone strength depends on long-term nutritional adequacy, hormonal status, physical activity, and overall health. Dietary planning should align with your regional nutritional guidelines and individual medical condition.

A consistent halal milk-based diet, combined with adequate vitamin D and exercise, strongly supports bone integrity and structural vitality.

Based on your description—prominent hips, lower-left back discomfort, and pain when lying on a flat surface—you are likely experiencing anterior pelvic tilt, where the pelvis rotates forward, increasing the curve in your lower back (lordosis).

Based on your history your diagnosis is Lordosis in which the concavity of Lumbar spine increases, so for treating this you have to wear Lumbar Corset for passive support and do exercise for strengthening of Abdominal muscles which are (External Oblique, Internal Oblique, Transverse Abdominis and Rectus Abdominis),when they become strengthened they automatically pull your dorsally curved back to it\'s normal alignment and state. By this way you can treat Lordosis
