Talk to Psychiatry on Acute Psychological Crisis Post-Traumatic Injury With Suspected Medication Misuse
Asking For Father, Male 51, Lahore
My father had a severe accident 2 weeks ago. he had maxila broken and deep cut near left eye, and lower lip was cut, a small tissue of lips from the corner is lost, and facial trauma with stitches on lips. Since then, he's been in extreme physical pain, unable to eat due to facial injuries. he's doctor himself. He's injecting himself with strong medications like Nalbuphine 2ml, 2 or 3 injections daily to sleep, alprazolam 3 4 tablets everyday, gabica(pregablin) 300mg 3 4 tablets everyday, despite our resistance. moreover doctor prescribed him nezkil 600mg, nuberol forte, panadol, risek, lerace, loprin, lowplat, concor, each med one or two times daily. now he's overdosing medicines and behaving abnormally. having suicidal thoughts, refuses to eat or drink, and is speaking negatively constantly. asking everyone for forgiveness etc. pls tell what to do.

Your father needs urgent indoor consult. Take him to the ER of any hospital and get him treated with a medical specialist and a psychiatrist. Do not delay. His life at risk.

Its possible that the injection is influencing his current behaviour. . Nelbuphine is an opioid analgesic. And sometimes cause side effects such as drowsiness ,confusion and unusual behaviour., especially;lly in elderly patients.continue to monitor him closely and let us us know if you nitice any specifis changes or concerns.

he put inj at like 11pm. and he didn't sleep at all. he started talking strangely or maybe seeing dreams with open eyes. then he took one more dose at 8am. again he didn't sleep. he took other medicines gabica, etc. now he's sleeping. should we go to the hospital now? if yes pls suggest any better hospital in Lahore to deal with this situation.

This is serious, potentially life threatening. Please have an online evaluation asap and possibly consult pain doctor as well. Harm reductions tools are taking away sharps, medications etc

He should consult a pain specialist. He may need inpatient psychiatric hospitalisation for pain addiction , depression and suicidal ideations .

Nalbin itself is addictive, so is Alp and Gabica. Get professional help of psychiatrist inperson to decide on current mental state examination what further steps need to be taken. i hope he had a CT Scan brain after the RTA. Even doctors need help when unwell. so seek opinion as soon as possible

he had CT scan 2 weeks ago when he had accident. it was all normal and doctors didn't say anything alarming. he got his treatment from Mayo Hospital. now sometimes he has pain in front part of the brain. and he acts abnormally after over dose of medicines. can you please suggest any private hospital in Lahore for this condition?
