Asking for Self, Male, 25 years old, Lahore
Salaam, I have been on antipsychotic drug called Risp 2mg (Risperidone) for over 2 years now. It was prescribed for Bipolar Disorder when I got extremely sick but Alhumdulillah now I'm recovered. I don't want to continue on this drug anymore because I have researched about the harmful effects of this drug on the brain and body. I want to completely stop taking it but my doctor wants me to continue. I'm looking for a doctor who will help me to taper it off slowly. I'm also looking for alternative methods to work on my mental health (without drugs). Thank you.
It can be done after detailed assessment of ur mental state and it would be suitable to stop then can be worked but if the problem is still there than will advise accordingly
iti heavy medicine q le ri use m koi b problem ho g bilkul ok kr de koi b side effect ni homopathy use ista ista is medicine ko kam kr k khtm kr life time khani pr jae g
waslam pls consult a good psychiatrist and ask him for how long u have to take it. discus about side effects with him. if a drug has more pros then cons then it shd be continued till required. discuss ur concerns with the doc
walikum assalam. risperidone is a good medicine for your disorder and 2 mg is itself a low manageable dose, don't just get too worried about the side effects. If you are already on follow up, then follow the advise of your treating doctor regarding certain blood investigations from time to time just to keep a check on any side effect if it occurs. choosing an alternate is an option only if the current medication is not responding or producing worsening side effects.
