Asking for Self, Male, 25 years old, Lahore

Mujhe initially severe insomnia thi, Phir galti se main methamphetamine use karne laga. Doctor ne mujhe Quetiapine 100 mg aur Clonazepam 2 mg prescribe kiya, saath Tramal Plus aur multivitamin bhi diya. Main approximately 3 saal se in medicines ko use kar raha hoon. Is duration mein doses kabhi kam aur kabhi zyada hoti rahi hain. Ek stage par sirf Clonazepam 2 mg se mujhe neend aa jati thi. Family stress ke baad meri sleep/mood phir worsen hui aur main Quetiapine 100 mg par wapas gaya. Ab main relatively stable hoon aur Quetiapine 25 mg + Clonazepam 2 mg leta hoon. Daytime functioning ke liye main Sting use karta hoon; Sting na piyun to energy, concentration aur mood poor lagta hai, lekin zyada Sting ya Sting ke saath coffee lene se meri sleep disturb hoti hai aur kabhi additional tablet lene ki zarurat mehsoos hoti hai. Normal routine mein medicines ke saath mujhe 12–1 baje ke around sleep aa jati hai. Ab mera goal medicines aur energy drinks dono ko permanently chhorna hai, lekin main sudden stopping nahi chahta. Main doctor ke supervision mein slow taper aur caffeine reduction plan chahta hoon

Yes, gradual tapering can be possible, but after around 3 years of clonazepam use, it should not be stopped suddenly or tapered without medical supervision because withdrawal can be significant and, in some cases, dangerous. Your history of methamphetamine use, sleep difficulties, and current use of quetiapine and energy drinks also makes an individualized plan important.

A psychiatrist can assess your current medications and create a slow, supervised taper while monitoring sleep, anxiety, mood, and withdrawal symptoms. We can also work alongside this on reducing dependence on energy drinks/caffeine and developing healthier strategies for sleep and daytime energy. Please don’t change the clonazepam dose on your own. A session would be a good first step toward a safe, structured plan.
