Asking for Sister, Female, 37 years old, Lahore
Aoa my sister is a patient of bipolar disorder. She is under treatment for 4 years. Every 2 months she discontinued her medicine and got back into the same phase in which she doesn't sleep and eats and talks about past. She becomes aggressive too. I wanted to ask for some rehabilitation facility for her as my parents are old and it gets difficult for them to take care of her in such situation. My father can not afford expensive treatment. Diagnosis needs to be reviewed. Poor compliance is not a strong reason for longterm admissions. Such patients are better treated at home. Regarding poor compliance issue may be resolved with discussion and family support.
Rehab centers are not only costly but also will have bad effects
