Talk to Psychiatry on Depression

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 19 years old, Quetta

I've had depression since a very young age due to bullying at school and other things. Because of it, I developed an eating disorder that lasted for many years. I just kept living with all of this, but recently, my cat, who I was really close to, passed away, and I've been in a depressive episode ever since.

I can't stop crying and keep having panic attacks at random moments. She died right in front of my eyes, so I can't get that image out of my head no matter how hard I try to forget it. I feel extremely low all the time and can't bring myself to do anything. I've lost interest in almost everything, and I can go days doing absolutely nothing.

I also experience what I think might be hypersomnia because I can sleep for 20+ hours straight, but even after waking up, I still feel extremely tired despite not doing anything.

I'd really appreciate some insight into what might be happening to me from a psychiatric perspective.
