Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Karachi
I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety years ago but I didn’t take it seriously back then… obviously it’s still causing problems now. I’m at a point where I’ve lost interest in almost everything. A month ago I was really suicidal (maybe I still am) and I was even struggling with basic hygiene. I have started taking fluoxetine 20 mg. Its been 23 days i think. And the SSRI induced activation syndrome is getting really bad to the point where i can't control my impulsiveness. I think I need something temporary to calm it.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Sometimes medications like can cause temporary restlessness or increased impulsivity during the first few weeks, which may be related to . However, since you are also experiencing suicidal thoughts, it is very important to address this properly.
Please don’t adjust or stop the medication on your own. A detailed assessment is needed so the treatment plan can be adjusted safely. You may consult a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist for proper evaluation and support. If you would like, you can book an appointment with me so we can discuss your symptoms in detail and guide you toward the most appropriate treatment.
