Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Lahore
Hi, I have been suffering from mild, tic-related PCd since 4-5 months. Since the last week I touched my private while I was in the bathroom and Accidentally touched my phone. Now I can't stop thinking about all the places that my phone touched and I feel like all those touchpoints also became a transmitter and I'm spiralling out of control. I have isolated my self in a room and feel very dirty. I'm therefore only able to take online consultations as I don't feel like leaving my house. My main question is, can online consultations also let psychiatrists prescribe medications? I have already tried Exposure and Response prevention therapy which has helped me with 90% of my OCD. But the instance I described above is resistant to ERP, my mind keeps replaying that memory and keeps elongating the touch chain and won't stop keeping a score. And I get compulsions to clean all the things that touched it, and all the touched things that further touched other things! I'm spiralling out of control
Yes this can be helped with proper treatment
and psychiatrists can prescribe medications and what you need is a structured cognitive behavioral therapy to get rid of such intrusive thoughts esp in ocd .i am a psychiatrist and also a cbt therapist. you can consult if you want . good luck
You can book online consultation, we can start a proper treatment plan based on detailed history and assessment.
so consult your local psychiatrist asap to lessen distress and illness severity initially
Hi I would suggest assessment online and then we confirm the diagnosis n treatment. A trained speacialist psychiatrist needs to assess you and then advice . It may be severe OCD or psychosis ?? I m uk and only do online . Happy to help if u book an assessment
Your symptoms suggest an OCD flare up with contamination and guilt related thoughts. Yes psychiatrists can prescribe medication after an online consultation if needed. Medication alongside ERP can help reduce the intensity of these thoughts and break the compulsive cycle. Help is available. You are never alone. Arrange a psychiatric follow up to help you stabilise and regain control.
Thank you for reaching out with your question. I understand your concern. To help you with treatment a detailed assessment is essential. I recommend you to book an online appointment for further assistance.
