Asking For Self, Male 23, Gujranwala
Assalam u Alaikum doctors I hope you are doing well.
I wanted to ask something regarding my condition. I was in severe depression and anxiety last year, but now I am completely fine and stable. However, one symptom has not gone away.
Sometimes while doing normal activities like brushing my teeth or riding my bike, I suddenly freeze for a few seconds as if my brain shuts down. Then I slowly start losing balance, and when I lose balance, I return to normal again. It usually lasts for 5 to 10 seconds. This happens almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day.
Last year, it was more severe. I even felt paralyzed and couldn’t signal my hand to pick up a book or pen, but that doesn’t happen now.
Now my depression and anxiety are gone, but this one symptom is still there. What could this be? I used to think it was daydreaming or zoning out, but now I feel it’s something else.
For reference, I have been taking Fluoxetine 20mg for the past 10 months and I took Risperidone 0.5mg for 6 m
Wa Alaikum Assalam . It’s good that your depression and anxiety are gone., but this persistent symptom needs further evaluation. Your current medication regimen is unlikely to cause this. However get a neurologist / psychiatrist consult. Get an EEG/MRI
Show to psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment

Assalam u Alaikum, aap ke freeze episodes shayad Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) ho sakte hain, jo short neurological deficits ka signal hai. Ye depression, anxiety, aur medication se bhi linked ho sakta hai. Aapko turant neurologist se consult karna chahiye. Kya aapko koi aur symptom mehsoos hota hai?
