Asking for Self, Female, 19 years old, Lahore
I feel very unreal, not the world, the world seems realistic to me, it's only me. I'm always in my head and I can't be present at the moment. It's not that I worry about my past. I am not stressed. But I want to get control of myself but I can't. I have to look in the mirror for a long time to feel real. I always feel like I'm in a dream. I want to meet myself. I once looked in the mirror and felt real, I was really happy to know that I was real, but after some time I went back to the dissociation Whenever I do an action, I feel like it didn't happen because I don't exist. I often force myself to talk to myself and it helps me to feel real but then again I lose myself. And due to this feeling, I often become extra self conscious/aware in social gathering and I end up doing awkward things because of that. I'm also struggling to stay with one personality, I want to be myself but when I meet someone I lose myself again, my mindset becomes like there and I even start speaking like them. I wish to feel myself and take life decisions from my point of view. I really want to see life from my point of view. This problem has been with me since childhood. Please tell me what's the cause behind this, what steps I can take further because I feel like a psychiatrist can't help me, I did visited psychiatrist but ( due to my past experiences instead of healing by consulting with a psychiatrist, I became extremely dependent on them and nothing changed. ) also when consulting with psychatrist I often see the world from their point of view and I feel as if I'm a therapist and I start understanding them, when I should be talking to them from point of view.

Ma'am, do you accept text based therapy sessions? Physical sessions might be a difficulty for me since my parents won't let me repeat any other session after my past experience with old psychatrist
