I have been struggling with depression, anxiety, and OCD for the past ten years and have been taking antidepressants for the past two years. I still feel emotionally numb, lack of interest in activities, low libido, and tiredness. Additionally, my memory has become very weak. Doctors say that you need to take therapy sessions, but I have taken a lot, and it didn't help much. Should I go for ECT?
well i dont think so. CBT can provide alot of help if you take active part
show to psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment
follow therapy sessions
daily regular
consistency and regularity
After reassessment and detailed psychological history taking, it will decide. either go for ECT or not?

I can truly understand how exhausting it is to struggle with depression, anxiety, and OCD for so many years especially when medications and multiple therapies haven’t brought the relief you deserve. Emotional numbness, low motivation, low libido, and memory issues can be side effects of prolonged stress and medication, not necessarily a sign that nothing will work.
ECT is only recommended in very severe, treatment-resistant cases, and even then, it’s not the first choice. Before considering such an invasive option, it’s important to re-evaluate your treatment approach, update your therapy plan, and work on brain-based healing strategies that support emotional reconnection and energy restoration.
You don’t have to go through this alone. Book your session now — let’s work together on a personalized treatment plan designed specifically for your recovery and quality of life.

I can truly feel how exhausting it must be to live with these struggles for so long. It takes a lot of strength to keep seeking help despite everything. ECT can help in some severe or treatment-resistant cases, but it’s best to decide after a detailed psychiatric assessment. Sometimes, the right kind of therapy and support can still make a real difference. You can consider starting sessions — therapy can help you understand your emotions better and gradually find balance and relief.

You have been managing these symptoms for a long time, so feeling tired and emotionally numb is understandable. When antidepressants don't fully help, it usually means medication needs to be combined with structured psychotherapy.
ECT is generally used only when other treatments have been tried properly and still don’t work. Before considering ECT, it’s important to have a proper psychological assessment and then start goal-based therapy (like CBT and emotional regulation work).
If you would like, I can help you with a complete assessment and a tailored therapy plan. You can contact me privately to discuss your case in detail
have one to one consultation
psychotherapy/counseling would be very help ful.
It's indicative of treatment resistance and given the complexity of mental health issues, this information isn't enough to provide specific advice.. I recommend booking an appointment for a thorough evaluation and discussion..

Alright, I will suggest to consult with one more psychologist and then think about ECT. This time chose a psychologist wisely.

No, you need proper sessions of CBT. There is a need to manage your symptoms through CBT techniques. A psychologist or you must discuss your management plan or future goals.
Please do not go for ECT. InshaAllah therapy sessions in conjunction with medication will be helpful. However you need to be regular with your therapy sessions.

Treatment-Resistant Depression. 60% Chance
Diagnosis
Given the long history of depression and anxiety with minimal improvement despite antidepressants and therapy, the patient likely has treatment-resistant depression, characterized by persistent symptoms despite adequate treatment.
Treatment
Consider optimization of current medication regimen including dosage adjustments or switching antidepressants. Augmentation strategies such as adding atypical antipsychotics or mood stabilizers may be beneficial. Exploration of advanced treatments like electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) could be warranted. Continued psychotherapy with a focus on evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT) remains important.

What medication you are on now n in past ? Give all names and dose and how long you used each medicine ? ECT is very last option and cannot be discussed without full detail n history of illness n medication. Therapy should be combined with medicine. Your personal situation can also play role in recovery . Did u take any therapy with meds ?
It seems you have been going through a long struggle with depression, anxiety, and OCD. which can be very exhausting emotionally and physically. Since you have already tried medication and therapy with limited improvement, it is important to reassess your treatment approach with a holistic plan combining psychotherapy, lifestyle modification, and medical review. ECT is usually considered only when other options have not been effective. I would suggest discussing your current condition in detail during a professional session so we can identify the underlying causes and suitable strategies for your recovery. You may contact me for a free trial session, and InshaAllah. we will work together to help reduce your problems and improve your mental wellbeing.
ECT can help in severe or treatment resistant depression, but it is usually considered after several medication and therapy options have failed. Emotional numbness and tiredness can also result from medication side effects or incomplete response. Before deciding on ECT, discuss with your psychiatrist about:
Reviewing or adjusting your current medicines/doses.Trying combination or newer antidepressants.Checking thyroid, vitamin B12, and D levels.ECT can be effective, but it should be a carefully evaluated medical decision, not the next immediate step.
