Talk to Psychiatry on Mental Issue

Asking for Self, Male, 25 years old, Chakwal

I have anxiety and I am wondering whether a symptom I experience could be related to OCD or something else. When I use a computer keyboard or my phone, I often feel a strong urge to press certain keys or buttons repeatedly. It feels difficult to resist, and I sometimes repeat the action even when I know there is no reason to do it. This mainly happens in those specific situations rather than all the time. Is this consistent with OCD, a tic disorder, anxiety-related behavior, or something else? Is it generally treatable?

The symptoms you describe could be related to OCD, especially if the urge to repeat certain key presses feels intrusive and difficult to resist, but anxiety related repetitive behaviors or other conditions can also cause similar symptoms. A diagnosis cannot be made based on this alone. The good news is that such symptoms are generally treatable with appropriate evaluation and therapy, and sometimes medication. Consider consulting a psychiatrist for a proper assessment and guidance. Help is available.
