Asking for Self, Female, 27 years old, Islamabad

Hi, I'm dealing with OCD symptoms that impact my daily life and I'd like to work on managing them. I wash my hands too much if I touch anything; I just go and wash my hands with soap. Then I don't want anyone to touch kitchen cutlery with dirty hands; first they should wash with soap and then [use it]. I don't want someone to hug me or touch me anywhere. I have so many problems which lead me to aggression or anxiety or crying."

Your symptoms are consistent with OCD which is treatable. A combination of ERP and medicines can help you regain control. Help is available. You are never alone. Consult a psychiatrist for a structured treatment plan.

I can understand, OCD can be very frustrating and anxiety provoking especially if it’s so severe that it’s interfering with your daily life. Kindly get professional evaluation so an appropriate management plan can be started. Its course takes about 9 to 12 months to complete, but symptoms start to get better after 1-2 months of you follow the instructions properly

Hi, OCD can be treated well and if the impact on life is moderate to severe combination of therpay and medication( SSRI,s) under supervision of trained psychiatrist brings good recovery. That plan needs an assessment. I am based in UK so can only help online. Let me know if you want to book an appointment through Marham connect. Best
