Asking for Wife, Female, 32 years old, Lahore
My wife is suffering from OCD, she spent 4-6 hours in washroom just to make sure that her bladder is empty and to clean herself on daily basis. She doesn't feel that her hands are clean unless she wash them 5-7 times. I have a 2 years son, she even can't change her nappy. My life is jeopardize because of the issue. It was difficult for her to understand that she has mental illness, now she is ready for the treatment. Is there any doctor who can help, I am specially interested to contact one who avoids extra medications.

OCD is one of those illnesses which can potentially respond to medicaitons
as well psychological therapy. If you desire to use minimum medication.
This could be possible. However definitive response can be furnished after
full assessment of the patient. The history you have presented seems that
the patient might need an initial few months on medications till she can
master other methods. Moreover if she is psychological minded and motivated
, speedy results can be expected. However , I would suggest to keep an open
mind. If the assessment merits treatment for some time , it might be worth

you and your wife must be in a lot of stress.OCD can be very emberessing and stressful but it can treated successfully with medications and response prevention therapy.I have treated many with this obsessive uncomfortable feeling of residual left over urine in bladder.
