It is absolutely amazing that he is desirous of being treated for his long time addiction. Self-motivation in the patient is very important for a successful outcome. There are medications that are used to support the patient so that he may not have to suffer so much from withdrawal symptoms like extreme weakness, insomnia, nausea, vomiting etc. The severity of symptoms reduce considerably but not completely. It is preferable to recieve this treatment in a private setting where required equipments and medications are all time available because how much ever the symptoms are masked, the patient does suffer for one week. Then on, he can be discharged and can carry on the treatment at home. This is also feasible for the family because it is very painful to see their loved one suffering. Other than that, detoxification can be done at home but you will have to be super strong for that. A continous psychological intervention is required for some period of time, to prevent relapse. Remember, relapse is very common during the process of rehablitation. It does not mean that the patient has gone back to zero. Yes, I can treat him. You may reach out via Marham. Wishing him good health.
